PEDESTAL BOAT SEATS

There are many different types of boat seats available. But pedestal boat seats offers the best of both worlds in regards to comfort and mobility. Pedestal boat seats are seats that are raised up, usually sitting on a column, often known as a pedestal. The great advantages associated with these kinds of seats is that they can be rotated 360 degrees with ease. They can be moved and dismantled easily, and they can be folded down to save space. In addition, there is a large degree of comfort associated with these seats because they feature fabulous lumbar support along with armrests and padding.

The most common type of seat that uses the pedestal seat configuration is fishing seats. A fishing seat is a seat that is used most commonly by fishermen who are angling for fish. A fishing seat needs to be mobile and easily rotated as to keep up with the changing winds and fishing lanes.  Because fishing boat seats are often mounted on pedestals, they can accomplish these tasks quite easily. Pedestal boat seats have many advantages over other types of boat seats. In many people’s minds, they offer a nice balance of comfort and usability, while not sacrificing much in either of these areas.

  • Comfort –While they aren’t billed as the most comfortable type of boat seat around, they certainly offer enough comfort for most people to bear sitting on them for long periods of time. They have nice lumbar support for the lower back, and the padding on the seat makes your back side feel good for the entire day. Some pedestal seats also feature armrests, although this is a rare exception.
  • Mobility –The great thing about pedestal boat seats is that they can be moved to anywhere in the boat in a just a few minutes. In addition, they can be rotated a full 360 degrees with just a touch of a button, and they can be raised or lowered depending on how the fishermen wants the seat to be.
  • Easy storage –Since pedestal boat seats are relatively light and removable, they can easily be removed from the boat during winter storage which will keep them in nicer shape and will keep them from getting snow or UV damage. In addition, when the boat isn’t being store but the seats aren’t in use, they can easily fold down and can accommodate a variety of covers for easy storage and sustainability.

Pedestal boat seats offer a great balance between comfort and usability, and they are great for fishermen who want to stay out on the lake all day but don’t want the nagging pain and sores that go along with inferior types of boat seats.
